The storm due to the pandemic has passed, ESI has resumed all normal activities aimed at satisfying the various needs of the Italian community or those interested in Italian culture.

In this period they have been made operational well 33 elementary courses ed 1 medium course, in-presence, throughout the Netherlands. To these courses have been added 3 special courses in Den Haag, baptized “Musilgua”, where children even of preschool age can approach the simultaneous learning of music and language. In fact, these courses have the aim of highlighting the close correlation between music and language in a mutually enriching relationship. Through a playful dimension, it is proposed that children experience the discovery of music within language and vice versa.

In the wake of the online activities that began during the pandemic period, ESI then decided to organize online elementary/middle school courses again for those students residing in places where it was not possible to organize traditional in-person courses. They are currently operational 2 courses of this type.

Regarding the programming of courses for adults, l”ESI had to take note of the “consequences of Covid”. In fact, during the pandemic period, having to take exclusively online courses, the students were able to appreciate it (and they got used to it) to the convenience of taking a course from your home without the need for “leave the house” to go to a classroom, particularly during after-work hours. Practically all the members therefore requested (and require) to carry out adult courses online. ESI could only adapt to this need, organizing 7 courses in online mode and only one course in traditional in-presence mode, for a total of approximately 70 students.

In a positive way, this evolution has also made it possible to extend the offer of courses for adults of all levels to students wherever domiciled, not only in the Netherlands but even in non-European continents!

In addition to the aforementioned courses “of group”, ESI is currently able to satisfy requests “personalized”, with individual courses for adults, adolescents and children, adapted to their specific needs, for example of a professional type for adults, for the preparation of teenagers for school exams, or educational integration for children who need to return to the Italian school system.

Once again it is necessary to underline that these activities are (state) made possible only by professionalism, passion and self-denial of all - all- teachers (currently 19) who collaborated in these 30 years with ESI, and by the voluntary work of the administrative bodies. The greatest satisfaction for all these people has always been the almost constant and unanimous gratitude of the students and their families.

The future? To the elders!
